Fatty Changes in the Early Regenerating Cortical cells Following Adrenal Enucleation and its Effects upon the Blood Coagulation Time, Total Serum Cholesterol, Lipid Phosphorus, and Serum Protein Fractions

Abstract
|
|
|
1. A slight fatty infiltration was noted in the necrotic area on the 3rd day of enucleation.
2. Regeneration of the cortex occurred on the 9th day of enucleation and differentiation into the zona fasciculata has taken place on the 18th day.
3. The regenerated cortical cells and. partly. destroyed zona glomerulosa were strongly sudanophilic and Schultz test also gave comparable results to that of Sudan III.
4. Blood coagulation time was shortened immediately following the enucleation ´and total cholesterol was also increased.
